More Boomwhacker Fun

Yesterday I introduced you to Boomwhackers. Today, because I'm still obsessed with them, I went on youtube and found out that church children's choirs, professional men's choruses, and music majors in college sitting around trying to entertain themselves have all posted video of Boomwhackers. But here's my favorite, an example of what happens when members of a drumline get a hold of them and have too much time on their hands:

Words cannot express how happy this makes my child-of-the-80s heart.

Dr. Boom:

My men's ensemble at church has actually jokingly used boomwhackers as rhythmic instruments for some old-timey songs we've done. I *almost* got us to do it in concert before I got The Look from our director vetoing it. ¡Que tristé!

Yanno, those Plastic Musik guys are from Roanoke, just 22 miles north of where I grew up.

And I do think we could have some fun with these tubes! Wonder what one could do to Air on the G String or Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring...

I was part of a church/youth choir Christmas performance that used a couple of Boomwhackers, but for the life of me I can't remember why they were there...

The drumline arrangement was sweet. Although I kept picturing Ross from Friends, sitting on the stairs and playing Boomwhackers to impress Rachel.
